Eight voices unite in Foad Nasser Babu’s Durga Puja song

Eminent music composer Foad Nasser Babu has tuned and composed music for the Durga Puja for the first time in his career. Eight prominent contemporary singers -- Alok Kumar Sen, Champa Banik, Debolina Sur, Sandipan Das, Haimanti Rakshit Das, Apurba Opu, Abanti Deb Sithi and Monti Saha have sung the song written by Sumon Saha.
"I composed Kirtan based music for films, but this is my first puja song. I'm thankful to BTV and Sumon for having faith in me" says Foad Nasser Babu, who is a legendary name in the Bangladeshi music industry.
"Music is a big part of puja celebration for me. I remember we would have competitions for playing the best music in pandals. We have been music release during any occasions, I intend to continue the culture," says Sumon Saha. Addressing the contemporary times - the injustice, oppression, violence against women globally despite the corona pandemic, the song seeks refuge from Goddess Durga.
The song will air on BTV on October 26, in a puja special programme titled 'Sharod Anondo'. A special music video of the song will be available on social media, for the audience around the world.
