BTV to air reruns of Humayun Ahmed’s ‘ Kothao Keu Nei’ and ‘Bohubrihi’ from April 6
Back in the 90s, people protested and brought out processions on the streets, against the execution of the Baker Bhai, a fictional character. Featuring Asaduzzaman Noor in the role of Baker Bhai, Kothao Keu Nei, written and directed by Humayun Ahmed, shed light on the adventures of an endearing gangster. It remains one of the most beloved television shows in the country to this day.
Tui Rajakar, a line from Bohubrihi, another hit television series from the late 80s written and directed by Humayun Ahmed, also garnered immense popularity.
Produced by Barkat Ullah, Kothao Keu Nei featured Suborna Mustafa, Abdul Kader, Lutfur Rahman George, Mozammel Hossain, Lucky Enam, Afsana Mimi, Mahfuz Ahmed, Humayun Faridee and Khairul Alam Sabuj among other others in pivotal roles, alongside Asaduzzaman Noor.
On the other hand, produced by Nawazish Ali Khan, Bohubrihi featured popular actors Abul Hayat, Lutfun Nahar Lota, Asaduzzaman Noor, Aly Zaker, Afzal Hossain, Abul Khair and Lucky Enam, among others. The series was known for its witty commentary on social issues. Harun Ur Rashid, the Director General of BTV, shared that the channel will air reruns of the two popular shows from tomorrow.
