Bassbaba Sumon provides health update, dispels rumours

Popular bassist and frontman of Aurthohin, Saidus Salehin Khaled Sumon, better known by his stage name 'Bassbaba Sumon', has been suffering from a severe spinal cord injury for a while. He had recovered from cancer years ago and is currently under post-operative medication.

He was supposed to travel to Germany for further treatment, but could not do so, owing to the restrictions induced by the pandemic.

The musician recently posted an update regarding his health status on Facebook. His status reads: "I am holding up better these days. I sit in the hotel all day, play Cyberpunk and go to the hospital every three days for therapy. I hope to return to Dhaka next month. I have to undergo a few more surgeries. The condition of my spine is not very promising at the moment. I might travel to Germany after Eid for further treatment. Those who say I am 'counting the days of death', do not take them seriously. I just checked a while ago and I am 'alive' enough. However, everyone should be careful, and stay healthy."

Bassbaba had suffered from the spinal cord injury in an accident in Bangkok in 2017. His family and peers are trying their best to take care of him, and process his visa for Germany. He has been under the supervision of local doctors, as well as foreign physicians online. According to his status, his condition is much better now and hopefully he will be undergoing his further treatment in Germany soon after Eid.
