Actor Sonu Sood receives UNDP’s SDG Special Humanitarian Action Award

Actor and humanitarian Sonu Sood was honoured with the SDG Special Humanitarian Action Award by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), recently. The award-giving ceremony was held virtually on September 28.
The actor has helped over 15,000 migrant workers, especially hailing from Bihar, to reach home during this pandemic. He arranged an array of private busses for the workers to travel back to their homes without having to spend a dime. Food and water were also provided all along the journey for free.
To reach more people, Sonu Sood's team was always accessible on a toll-free number. The actor personally offered to be available on social media. He also promised to respond instantly to those who would reach out to him.
Sonu Sood has helped many with financial aid as well. He has also arranged food and shelter for over 45,000 individuals who have been hardly hit during these tough times.
He has also been facilitating free education and medical services, alongside generating employment opportunities for the ones in distress.
Alongside Sonu Sood, Angelina Jolie, David Beckham, Leonardo DiCaprio, Emma Watson, and Liam Neeson have received this award in the past for their humanitarian work.
