Catch first clip from ‘Sherlock’ Christmas special
The first footage of the upcoming Sherlock special has arrived, and something tells us the wait is going to be well worth it, reports Mashable.
The clip, unveiled Thursday at Comic-Con, is embedded above. It's a throwback to the original novels, all tweed suits and that classic pipe and an epic mustache sported by Martin Freeman, a.k.a. Dr. Watson.
The footage comes on the heels of a new image from the special, set in Victorian England.
"It's the same sense of humor," executive producer Steven Moffat said of the special in the panel for the show. "It's Sherlock as you know it, but in the 'correct' era."
The special does not yet have an airdate, but Moffat announced that when it does, it will also be playing in select movie theaters.
Meanwhile, Moffat said writing on series 4 of the show has not yet commenced, but he and executive producer Mark Gatiss have plotted out the major moments that "suckerpunch you into emotional devastation."
Moffat was joined on the panel by executive producer Sue Vertue and Rupert Graves.
