Alal gets bail

The High Court yesterday granted one year bail to Jubo Dal President Moazzem Hossain Alal and five others in a case filed on charge of planning to carry out subversive activities during hartal on October 26.

Now there is no legal bar to release Alal and five others from jail, their lawyer Sagir Hossain Leon told The Daily Star.

Police arrested Alal along with 62 activists of BNP and its front organisations from his Lalmatia residence in the capital on October 25.

After hearing two bail petitions, the HC granted the ad-interim bail to the six for one year and issued a rule upon the government to explain why they should not be granted regular bail in the case.
