AL man stabbed death in Pabna

A ward-level leader of the ruling Awami League was stabbed to death by unidentified miscreants at Pabna Sadar upazila this evening.
Iqbal, 45, was president of Ward No-4 of Bharara Union Parishad in the upazila, Faizul Islam, officer-in-charge of Ataikula Police Station, told our Pabna correspondent.
He added a group of miscreants numbering four to five swooped on Iqbal around 5:30pm when he was taking tee at a stall at Dublia Bazar.
The assailants stabbed Iqbal indiscriminately, leaving him critically injured, the OC said.
Locals rushed him to Pabna Sadar Hospital where doctors declared him dead around 6:00pm.
The motive behind the murder and the identity of the killers could not be known immediately.
