4 Ansar al Islam men arrested in Khulna

Four suspected members of banned militant outfit Ansar al Islam were arrested in Khulna's Terkhada upazila early this morning.

A team of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab-3) arrested the four from Azizia Markazul Ulum Madrasa during a drive in Khulna's Terkhada upazila at around 4:00 am, reports our local correspondent quoting Mosharraf Hossain, officer-in-charge of Terkhada Police Station.

The arrestees were identified as Md Habib Masud Reza (28) of Jhalokathi, Mohammad Yusuf Ali (21) of Jhalokathi, Ashraful Islam (31) of Narail, and Mohammad Yusuf Ali (21) of Dinajpur.

Rab-3 Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Rina Rani conducted the drive and made the arrests, the OC said, adding that the four were later handed over to Terkhada Police Station.

OC Mosharraf said a case is under process against the four in connection with the matter.
