Travel agent held for deaths of 11 on sea

Police yesterday arrested the owner of Dohar Travel Agency from his office in Bijoynagar following the tragic deaths of 11 Bangladeshis in the Mediterranean last month on their illegal voyage to Spain from Morocco.
Ramna police arrested Abdus Salam at about 1:30pm and seized 35 Bangladeshi passports, three registers and other documents. His partner, Mosharraf, is still at large.
Police suspect Salam's travel agency had sold tickets to the Bangladeshis, but he denied the allegation.
Salam is likely to be produced before a court and placed on remand for interrogation soon.
