Pro-BNP panel wins Khulna Bar polls

Mohammad Abdullah Hossain and Shaikh Masud Hossain Rony have been elected president and general secretary respectively of Khulna District Bar Association.

They contested as the candidates of 'Sarbodaliya Ainjibi Oikya' panel, supported by BNP-led four party alliance, against their rivals of 'Sammilita Ainjibi Samannoy Parishad' panel supported by Awami League.

Out of a total 775 voters, 721 cast their votes in the annual election held on Saturday. Official results of the election were announced yesterday.

Sarbodaliya Ainjibi Oikya panel has bagged nine out of a total 14 posts, while Sammilita Ainjibi Samannoy Parishad panel captured five including the post of joint secretary.

The newly elected office bearers include two women Konika Saha and Nasrin Nahar belonging to Sammilita Ainjibi Samannoy Parishad.

They have been elected members of the 14-member executive committee.
