Quit Iraq

One year has passed since the second Gulf war ended. Now it is time to analyse whether the war on Iraq was ' justified' or not, which was waged in the guise of "Operation Iraqi Freedom".

Iraq had been condemned for possessing the so-called WMD and also for having al-Qaeda connections. The WMD theory has been effectively destroyed by the recent findings of the intelligence agencies of the two countries that led the invasionthe US and the UK. They have failed to submit sufficient evidence to prove Iraq's al-Qaeda connections either. Thus it is evident now that Iraq was invaded as part of the plan to extend the US hegemony the world over. But peace-loving people, even in the heart of Europe, have rejected the plan.

Blair's popularity has declined to the lowest level and Bush is going to face a tough contest in the next US presidential elections . Discord is apparent in the coalition as Spain has already fixed up a deadline for taking back its soldiers. Poland, too, has admitted having committed a mistake regarding WMD. The US, the world's largest producer of lethal weapons , always expresses its deep concern about human rights violations around the world through publishing special reports . But the country itself can be charged with violation of human rights in many places, the Guantanamo Bay being a burning example of what it is doing to its 'perceived enemies'.

Slowly and gradually the resistance war is gaining momentum in Iraq. For the sake of humanity, Bush and Blair have to compensate Iraqi people and quit the land as soon as possible. Otherwise, not only the innocent people of Iraq but the invaders will also have to pay a high price.
