105 looted trawlers recovered from Sundarbans
Members of Bangladesh Coastguard yesterday recovered at least 105 fishing trawlers, looted by forest robbers at different times, from the Sundarbans.
Lt Commander Alauddin Nayon, operations officer at Mongla Coastguard, said they conducted a drive in Kalindi River area of the forest under Satkhira range around 1:00am to rescue some fishermen who along with their boats were abducted by the members of 'Alim Bahini'.
However, the robbers fled into the deep forest sensing the presence of the law enforcers.
Later, the coastguards recovered the looted fishing trawlers, said the officer.
