An Indian minister in the Delhi state government resigned late Tuesday hours after police arrested him on suspicion of faking his law degree. Jitendra Singh Tomar, who held a number of portfolios in the Delhi government including justice, appeared in court earlier in the day to be formally charged with criminal conspiracy, cheating and forgery. Tomar sent his resignation letter from jail after the Delhi court remanded him to four days in police custody, the Press Trust of India reported.
