Kenya's repeat presidential elections will proceed as planned today, said the head of the election board yesterday, after a tumultuous day in which a no-show by most Supreme Court judges prevented the hearing of a petition to delay the poll. Within minutes of the announcement, hundreds of supporters of opposition leader Raila Odinga took to the streets of Kisumu, his main stronghold. Clashes were reported.
