Why IT training is important for competing on a global stage

For the last 12 years, Creative IT Institute has been operating as a learning platform, providing skill development training in several areas of IT. The Daily Star team got in a conversation with Monir Hosen, the Founder and CEO of Creative IT Institute.

Since its inception, Creative IT has trained more than 35 thousand students, where more than 18 thousand students have turned into successful freelancers and 13 thousand students have had successful job placements. By designing their courses in a very focused manner, Creative IT Institute aims to train students in an engrossed and concentrated way.

"When I was a university student, I didn't have any mentors. I didn't have a goal in life or a clear plan. That is exactly the area where Creative IT is trying to make a difference. We aren't just offering the courses in a business-oriented manner, we are guiding the students and helping them set visions in life. It's easy to succeed when you have the right guidance, but it's also easy to fail when you're misguided," stated Monir Hosen.

Creative IT institute also works with training physically gifted people as they believe that if they're equipped with the right skill-set, they can ace in life. To encourage women empowerment, they have provided scholarships to women so that they're motivated. Creative IT Institute is currently connected to more than 100 polytechnic institutes and is in strategic academic partnerships with some notable universities.

The founder mentioned that the government is also taking different initiatives for freelancers and encouraging thousands of Bangladesh's young people ​to become self-employed. With the help of the government, the sector is now booming and thus it is possible to drive Bangladesh's economy to a great mile.

"Our students should not just think of competing to become better in this country, they should think of competing globally, to take themselves, and the nation forward. For the flexibility of students, we offer just two classes a week so that they can learn with convenience. Yes, it's true that there aren't probably enough part-time job opportunities, but for that to happen, we need to build a nation full of skilled people, who can enhance the standards so that organizations recruit them with pride," added Monir Hosen.
