Rivers have always been the lifeline for the country's trade and commerce. No other country can perhaps boast such a long and intricate network of waterways as we have. But years of neglect and abuse have left our rivers in ruins. The boats, launches and trawlers that are used for ferrying goods and passengers are always overcrowded, making life an everyday duel with death.
