You can now play as a Bengali emperor in Age of Empires II Definitive Edition

Popular real-time battle strategy game Age of Empires II Definite Edition has introduced a new DLC (Downloadable Content) expansion, Dynasties Of India, that allows players to play as the Bengalis. The new DLC introduces three new civilisations: Gurjaras, Dravidians and Bengalis. The Gurjara and the Dravidian campaigns follow the stories of Emperor Babur and King Raja Chola, respectively. The Bengali campaign follows the story of Devapala, the 9th century Bengali emperor of the Pala dynasty.

In the game, Bengalis specialise in elephants and naval units. Bengali elephants are more resistant to anti-elephant bonus damage than elephants from other civilizations, in addition to having a strong technology tree. Furthermore, they can improve their attack speed by researching the unique technology Paiks, which also improves Rathas. Bengali ships regenerate hitpoints, allowing them to last longer. These advantages are the result of a strong economy.
When each Age is reached, Bengali Town Centers automatically spawn more villagers, and the Bengalis can support a larger economy after discovering the unique technology Mahayana, which reduces the amount of population space taken up by each villager.
In addition to the gold accumulated during each trip to/from an allied Market, Bengali trade units and those of their allies generate food.
Dynasties of India will be available on the Microsoft Store and Steam from April 28, 2022.
