Taskforce formed to bring fugitives back home

The government has formed a 10-member high-profile taskforce for gradually bringing all the Bangladeshi fugitive criminals back home from abroad.
The taskforce, headed by Law Minister Anisul Haq, includes Foreign Minister Mahmood Ali, State Minister for Home Asaduzzaman Khan, Attorney General Mahbubey Alam, Inspector General of Police Hassan Mahmud Khandker, directors general of Directorate General of Forces Intelligence (DGFI) and National Security Intelligence (NSI) and home, law and foreign secretaries.
According to a gazette notification issued by the cabinet division yesterday, the taskforce will work on preparing a list of the fugitives and take steps to detect their locations through reliable sources.
It will also take steps for repatriation of the fugitives who have already got citizenship of the countries where they are hiding.
The home ministry is responsible for secretarial works of the taskforce, says the notification.
