Former Real Madrid right back Lucas Vazquez has joined Bayer Leverkusen until 2027, the German club announced on Tuesday.
"He will not be included in the squad for the match in Manchester," said Madrid in a statement on Sunday, with Spanish media reporting he will miss three weeks.
Defender Vazquez headed home to lift Madrid above Girona to the number one spot after this season's surprise packages were held to a 1-1 draw at Real Betis earlier in the day.
