Excellence in modern learning
A university campus is more than a collection of buildings. It is a place where ideas grow, skills are sharpened, and young people prepare for the demands of a changing world. At Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT), located in Rupnagar Main Road, Mirpur-2, Dhaka, that vision is reflected in a learning environment built around academic excellence, innovation, research, and student well-being.
Over the past two decades, BUBT has grown into one of the country’s largest private universities. Today, it serves more than 10,000 students through 13 departments under 5 faculties. More than 300 faculty members are engaged in teaching, research, and academic mentoring, helping students navigate an increasingly competitive and technology-driven world. Its classrooms are fully air-conditioned and equipped with multimedia facilities, supporting an outcome-based education (OBE) approach that encourages active learning, critical thinking, and practical engagement.
Students from disciplines such as computer science and engineering, electrical and electronic engineering, civil engineering, textile engineering, data science and engineering have access to specialised laboratories and workshops where theory is regularly connected with practical experience.
The diversity of academic programmes is reflected in the achievements of its graduates. BUBT alumni are contributing across the corporate sector, entrepreneurship, public administration, education, media, and the legal profession. Graduates from the university’s business programmes are working in leading organisations at home and abroad, while its law graduates continue to establish themselves in legal practice and public service. Students from Economics and English are also building careers in research, development, communication, and education.
Innovation has become an important part of campus life. Through the BUBT Innovation Hub, students are encouraged to transform ideas into practical solutions and engage in industry-orientated projects. Research activities are further strengthened through the BUBT Research Graduate School, while BUBT-TAFE provides technical and professional training aimed at enhancing employability and workforce readiness.
Life outside the classroom is equally vibrant. A dedicated sports complex offers opportunities for cricket, football, badminton, and other recreational activities. More than 20 student clubs create spaces for leadership, creativity, volunteerism, and teamwork, helping students discover interests beyond their academic disciplines.
Prioritising well-being, BUBT provides full-time medical doctors and psychological counselling. Its Career Guidance Office further supports students through workshops and training sessions to ensure readiness for internships and professional careers.
By combining modern academic facilities with research, innovation, and student support services, BUBT seeks to create an environment where learning extends well beyond the classroom and into the future.
