Hate crime is not a solution

Most major religions say one should only fight in self-defense. However, hate crimes in the name of religion is nothing new but getting worse with time. The recent attack on two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand again brought to the forefront the brutal effects of hate crime. It also showed us how the world can act in response to a hate crime. The country successfully revamped their gun laws in the wake of the attack. Now the question is, how can the rest of the world take decisive moves in curbing hate crime?
