Why is the govt plan to reduce medical costs on backtrack?
Medical costs are still on the rise. Health Care Financing Strategy 2012-2032, adopted by the Health Economics Unit of the health ministry, had proposed to reduce out-of-pocket medical expenditure by half within 2032. Currently 68.5% of the health care finance falls upon individuals, according to a recent study conducted by DGHS.
But does everyone have the financial capability to take on the burden? Why is the plan to reduce out-of-pocket costs on backtrack?
