Why hasn't the Pahartali Baddhyabhumi been preserved after 50 years?
During the War of Liberation in 1971, countless people were massacred at a Pahartali site in Chattogram. A witness to this genocide for the last 50 years, the Baddhyabhumi has received no preservation effort.
Following the final approval of the writ petition brought by eight prominent citizens, the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court ruled for the preservation of the Baddhyabhumi in March 2014. Since then, seven and a half years have passed.
Today's Star Special is on the Pahartali Massacre site which is occupying a place in the history of the country's liberation.
