IEDCR study finds antibiotic resistance alarmingly evident
A recent study conducted by Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research finds that almost all clinically important and widely used antibiotics have lost their effectiveness by more than 50 percent. And five of the most critical medicines listed by the World Health Organization are progressively becoming ineffective.
Experts and other international health related organizations are expressing concerns that irrational and uncontrolled use of antibiotics is making Bangladesh an alarmingly plausible place for a new, probably even deadlier pandemic of antibiotic resistant bacteria.
