Does the President's dialogue carry any significance in EC formation?
Meeting between the president and the political parties to form the election commission just ended. Seven political parties including BNP, BSD, and CPB didn't attend the meeting. After 50 years of independence, the formation of the EC may finally come under the law without the participation of these major parties. Is it legally possible to form an election commission without the participation of major parties? Was the president's dialogue completely pointless? Is the national election going to lose its value if major parties aren't willing to participate?
