Bangladesh’s bid to regain the Asian Senior Men’s Central Zone Volleyball Championship title took a big hit when they suffered a straight 3-0 sets defeat at the hands of Uzbekistan in their opening match at the Army Sports and Physical Training Complex in Kathmandu, Nepal yesterday.

Despite having undergone a month long training camp ahead of the tournament, Bangladesh lost the first and second set by an identical 25-16, 25-16 points margin before going on to lose the third set by 25-23 points. Bangladesh will next face Afghanistan on August 20 before taking on Turkmenistan on August 21 at the same venue.
