Navy put 8 past Police

Star-studded Bangladesh Navy and Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protisthan (BKSP) made a winning start on the opening day of the Victory Day hockey tournament at the Maulana Bhasani National Hockey Stadium yesterday.

Bangladesh Navy, comprising of 10 national players, outplayed Bangladesh Police 8-0. National striker Rasel Mahmud Jimmy scored four goals while nationals Krishna Kumar, Moinul Islam and Roman Sarker shared four goals among them in the one-way traffic.

In the day's other match, BKSP posted an easy 5-2 win over Roktim Shangha.

Ashraful Islam struck three goals while Arshad Hossain and Raju Ahmed netted one goal apiece.
