Bangladeshi umpire Masudur Rahman Mukul will be conducting the Aisa Cup final between Pakistan and Sri Lanka on Sunday as one of the two on-field umpires.

India's Anil Chaudhary will be the other on-field umpire alongside Masudur for the much-anticipated final.

"Anil Chaudhury and I have been given the responsibility to conduct the Asia Cup final," Masudur confirmed The Daily Star today.

This will also be the first time that a Bangladeshi umpire will be in charge of a multi-team tournament's final overseas.

Even though Bangladesh had an abysmal Asia Cup campaign, with zero victories resulting in a group-stage exit for the runners-up of the previous edition, the country's umpires have impressed in the continental tournament. Gazi Sohel and Masudur are the two Bangladeshi umpires who conducted a number of matches in this edition of the tournament.

Masudur has officiated in both the high-voltage India-Pakistan clashes in this tournament. He earned praises for his diligent work in both matches.
