Shoriful displays sporting spirit in Mount Maunganui
Bangladesh pacer Shoriful Islam showed commendable sportsmanship in the second and penultimate T20I between Bangladesh and hosts New Zealand in Mount Maunganui on Friday.
In his opening over, the innings' second, Shoriful opted to not inflict a run out dismissal of New Zealand opener Tim Seifert who was down on the ground and out of his crease at the non-striker's end after failing to duck a straight drive from Daryl Mitchell.
However, the run out would not have resulted as the umpire called it a dead ball due to concussion.
Three deliveries prior to it, the in-form quick scalped the wicket of Finn Allen in his second ball of the day.
Seifert then recovered and went on to produce a blistering 23-ball 43, helping New Zealand pile on the runs before rain interrupted proceedings with the Black Caps on 72 for two in 11 overs after they were asked to bat.
Bangladesh lead the three-match series 1-0 following a historic five-wicket victory in Napier.
