Shakib 'available for third ODI'
Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan will be available for Wednesday's third ODI against South Africa in Centurion despite his family members currently going through health complications back in Bangladesh.
There was confusion regarding whether Shakib was set to return home as Jalal Yunus, chairman of BCB's cricket operations committee, first informed that the all-rounder had decided to fly back tonight but later he said that the decision has been changed.
"Yes, there was a talk of his return tonight (Monday) but now he is staying with the team and will play the third ODI as per latest report," said Yunus.
Team director Khaled Mahmud and selector Habibul Bashar also told the Daily Star over phone from South Africa that Shakib was staying with the team.
"No decision has been made yet regarding his return to the country. Shakib is following updates from back home. He is actually looking for a return flight after the completion of the third match," Bashar told The Daily Star.
"Many of his family members are sick, including his [three] children, so it's Shakib who will take the decision whether he is returning or being available for the coming matches," Yunus added.
