Hanif Mohammad revived after being declared dead

Former Pakistan batting great Hanif Mohammad came back to life after losing his heartbeat for six minutes in a Karachi hospital on August 11, the Press Trust of India reports.
Many news outlets carried the news of the legendary batsman of the 1950s and 1960s having passed away and his son Shoaib Mohammad confirmed on various television channels that the 81-year-old had passed away after losing a protracted battle with various ailments due to which doctors had put the former legend on a ventilator. A few minutes later however, he announced that Hanif had not in fact passed away.
"His heartbeat had stopped for six minutes but the doctors managed to revive his heartbeat back," Shoaib said.
"God has given him a second chance and I just feel this is due to the prayers of his millions of fans and supporters," he said.
"Hanif Mohammad is alive and he is being provided the best possible treatment after he was admitted to hospital for complicated respiratory problems two weeks back," a spokesman of the hospital told the media.
"He is now on a ventilator and in intensive care unit getting treatment for complications due to his lung cancer," the spokesman said.
Hanif Mohammad, the man who scored a Test best of 337 against the West Indies in 1957-58 and the then-highest first-class innings of 499 a year later, was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2013.
