Would like to play Bangladesh without the crowd: Faf
Tamim Iqbal invited South Africa former skipper Faf du Plessis to an online meet on Wednesday night where the duo talked about the kind of crisis sports might be facing with coronavirus keeping everyone in lockdown.
The South African was keen to get back to playing cricket and said he was willing to follow any precautionary measures in order to return to the game.
"We want to get back to playing cricket, it's what we do. So whatever we have to do to play cricket, I'm for doing that," he said.
Faf wanted to know how Tamim felt about playing without any crowd present at the stadium. "I don't like it! I think it will be like batting on a centre wicket," Tamim replied.
Faf joked that he would like to play Bangladesh and India without crowds. "I think we should play Bangladesh and India without crowds. It's impossible to play because the fans are so amazing," he said.
"Our fans are very emotional, very passionate and very good," Tamim remarked. The Bangladesh fans are one of the most vocal supporters in the world but cricket post coronavirus might see fans absent from the stadiums for an unforeseen period of time.
