SLC lays blueprint protocol for Bangladesh series

The Sri Lankan Cricket Board sat with Covid-19 experts yesterday to discuss protocols for the upcoming series against Bangladesh.

The meeting took place at Lankan Army HQ and was headed by Shammi Silva, the SLC president. Shammi asked for assistance for the smooth running of the series against Bangladesh and the Lanka Premier League (LPL).

According to a Facebook post from Sri Lanka Army, The SLC 'also tabled a copy of the blueprint protocol that has been now laid in connection with the Bangladesh tour beginning 27 September to 13 October at Hambantota. The SLC also thanked the Commander of the Army for his excellent contribution towards control of the epidemic in Sri Lanka.'

The Tigers' tour of Sri Lanka was thrown into doubt following the difference in opinions between the two boards but Lanka sports minister Namal Rajapakse instructed SLC to look into the matter and find a solution.

The BCB raised issue with the 'historically unique' protocols set by the SLC and although media reports from Lanka said that SLC meeting with experts had also involved discussion of allowing Bangladesh to add few more members to the tour party, there is yet to be any information regarding whether protocols will be adjusted for the series.
