Shakib to return to the US
Bangladesh premier all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan is set to return to his family in the United States. The 33-year-old all-rounder is reported to board the US-bound flight at 3:45am tomorrow.
Shakib, whose ban imposed by the ICC is set to end on October 28 with the player being eligible to return to cricket from the day after, returned to Bangladesh from the US on September 2 after having spent over five months in the US. The premier all-rounder was expected to join the Tigers from their second Test on the Sri Lanka tour, which now has been called off as the concerned boards failed to agree on the quarantine protocols.
Shakib was however gearing for a return to cricket and had been training on his own at the BKSP -- as he was not eligible to be included in any of BCB's plans till his ban came to an end -- after returning to the country. But the cancelation of the Sri Lanka tour means that Bangladesh do not have any international fixtures in the near future.
