Riyad may miss start of BBPL
Chattogram Challengers all-rounder Mahmudullah Riyad could miss the first two matches of the upcoming seventh edition of the Bangabandhu Bangladesh Premier League (BBPL), informed Chattogram Challengers' team director and BCB's media committee chairman Jalal Yunus today.
"There are a number of injury concerns. Chris Gayle will be playing the last few matches of the tournament as he is suffering from injury. We will also not get Imaad Wasim as he is also suffering from injury. [Mahmudullah] Riyad might also miss the first one or two matches. However, we hope that he will be available after that." said Jalal today.
Mahmudullah, who suffered a hamstring injury during Bangladesh's pink ball Test against India last month, is yet to recover from it. Meanwhile, Gayle, who is also suffering from a hamstring injury, was earlier reported by the Chattogram Challengers team management to be joining the team in the latter part of the tournament. The Caribbean superstar will play only two matches for Chattogram.
Chattogram Challengers will be taking on Sylhet Thunder on the opening fixture of the BBPL at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur on December 11.
