Ram Chand Goala passes away
Ram Chand Goala, a legendary name in the country's domestic cricket circuit during the 80s has passed away at the age of 81 at his Mymensingh residence today.
Ram Chand, popularly known as Goalaji, played for various reputed clubs in Mymensingh and Dhaka. He played for Abahani Limited for 15 straight seasons. He is also the oldest player to make his debut for the national team when he debuted at the age of 43.
"He passed away this morning due to old-age complications. His cremation ceremony will take place today. He was a legend in the truest sense of the word and inspired many generations of cricketers in Bangladesh," BCB director Sajjadul Alam Bobby confirmed to The Daily Star.
He was part of the Bangladesh team that toured West Bengal in 1983 and featured in a match at Eden Gardens against West Bengal.
