MOMENTS
Lucky Shakib unable to utilise luck
It was a lucky escape for the Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan when he faced the very first ball of his innings, with the left-hander going for a wild heave outside the off-stump against Zimbabwe pacer Kyle Jarvis. At first glance it looked like Shakib had missed the shot as the ball went to the wicket-keeper. With wicket-keeper Brendan Taylor showing little interest, Jarvis paused for a moment about appealing, but eventually decided not to do so. Interestingly, the TV replays later showed that Shakib did get an inside edge off the bat which carried to the keeper. However, Shakib was unable to make good of his fortune and was eventually out for eight, that too falling to a soft dismissal.
Madziva's stunning catch
Bangladesh opener Liton Das was all guns blazing with the bat right from the word go in Bangladesh's innings. Zimbabwe were desperate to see the back of the hard-hitting batsman quickly and it took an extraordinary piece of fielding to remove the threatening right-handed opener. Liton top-edged a Christopher Mpofu delivery while going for a flick. The ball going high in the air, Neville Madziva, who was at short fine-leg, covered a lot of ground running backwards and managing to go under the ball to complete a stunning catch, dismissing Liton for a 22-ball 38.
