‘Fizz will get more deliveries to swing back in from now’
Bangladesh's ace paceman Mustafizur Rahman was getting the ball to nip back in quite well during the Tigers' first ODI against the West Indies yesterday. Tigers' coach Otis Gibson reiterated that Fizz proved to himself that he has the ability to swing the ball back in to the right hander.
Mustafizur was last year dropped from the lone Test against Zimbabwe with head coach Russell Domingo saying: "I don't think Mustafiz is ready to play the Test matches until he does some technical work which allows him to bring the ball back in to the right-handed batsman."
While he always had the ability to get the ball to move away from the right hander, he needed to make the technique of getting the ball to jag back in innate. Bowling coach Otis was hopeful Fizz will regularly bring the ball back in from now.
"He has worked hard. He is good to work with, quite a lot of fun to work with. We are trying to swing the ball back in and we have worked on many different things with his wrist position. He has proven now to himself more than anything else that he can swing the ball back in and hopefully he will go from strength to strength and get better and in coming matches you will see more deliveries swinging back in.
