BD Women defeat SL by seven wickets at SA Games
Bangladesh Women romped to a seven-wicket victory in their opening game against their Sri Lankan counterparts in the Women's T20 cricket event at the ongoing 13th edition of South Asian Games in Nepal today.
The Salma Khatun-led side had restricted Sri Lanka to 122 for six after having asked them to bat first. Nahida Akter took four of the six wickets fell as she returned impressive figures of four for 32 to help Bangladesh's cause. Meanwhile, it was Umesha Thimashini, the Sri Lankan opener who contributed with a team high of 49-ball 56 before being dismissed in the 13th over.
Following the exchange, an unbeaten 45-ball 51 from Sanjida Islam helped Bangladesh romp to victory with seven wickets and nine balls to spare.
