BCCI proposes D/N Test for Tigers
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has asked the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) to consider changing the second Test between Bangladesh and India next month from a day match to a day-night encounter.
The second Test will be held at Kolkata's iconic Eden Gardens from November 22.
"Something to that effect is being discussed," BCB CEO Nizamuddin Chowdhury told reporters yesterday. "We have not yet decided. We will have to discuss with the players and team management."
Neither country has played a day-night Test, which is played with a pink ball. New BCCI President Sourav Ganguly said recently that India skipper Virat Kohli was open to the idea.
Other than the final of the inaugural Bangladesh Cricket League in 2013 which was a day-night affair, pink-ball cricket is not a regular fixture in Bangladeshi domestic cricket.
