MOVIES TO LOOK OUT FOR!

2018 can be called a great year for movie buffs! Movies like Bizli, Super Hero, Black Panther, Avengers: Infinity War, Pad Man and Veere Di Wedding have done fantastic in the box office earning millions, and the movies coming up also look as promising as the ones released so far. Here is our pick of the top five movies to look out for this year.

Phagun Hawa

After the massive success of Haldaa, Tauqir Ahmed's Phagun Hawa looks particularly promising. Based on an adaptation of the short story Bou Kotha Kou by Tito Rahman, the film is about our language movement. Tauqir Ahmed has also roped in some of the heavyweight actors for this film. Fazlur Rahman Babu, Abul Hayat, Siam Ahmed, Nusrat Imroze Tisha and Rownak Hasan will be seen in this movie. Tisha will be playing the role of a village girl and Siam will be seen as a rebellious youth living in a village. Yashpal Sharma, an Indian actor who has also worked in acclaimed Indian films including Laagan will also appear in Phagun Hawa.

 

 

Sanju

When you hear the name of Rajkumar Hirani and Vidhu Vinod Chopra together, you anticipate something big is coming! They have made the most hyped film of Bollywood this year which is to be released on June 29. The film is based on the life of Sanjay Dutt aka Sanju Baba. The film will follow mainly the three phases of his life; starting from when he was addicted to drugs, his affection towards women, and finally when he went to jail. Ranbir Kapoor is playing the role of Sanjay Dutt, Paresh Rawal will be playing Sanju's father Sunil Dutt, and Manisha Koirala will be seen as Sanju's mother. Anushka Sharma and Dia Mirza will have prominent roles to play as well. After watching the trailer, the Ranbir Kapoor fans are eagerly waiting for the movie to get released. 

 

 

Christopher Robin

Walt Disney Studios is releasing the fantasy comedy-drama Christopher Robin on August 03. It is an adaptation of a story written by Alex Ross Perry and also inspired by the book of A. A. Mine, Winnie the Pooh. Ewan McGregor is playing the role of Christopher Robin who loses the ability of imagination when he grows up. But he discovers the joys of life with the help of his childhood friend, Winnie the Pooh. The film is also starring Hayley Atwell, Bronte Carmichael, and Mark Gatiss in supporting roles.

 

 

Ant-Man and the Wasp

Paul Rudd is coming back in his ant man's costume on July 06, with the movie Ant-Man and the Wasp. Since Scott Lang aka Ant-Man is a father now, he has to balance being a father and a superhero. In this state, he has been appointed to execute a mission where he works with the Wasp to reveal secrets from their past. The film has been produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Motion Pictures. Peyton Reed has directed the film which starred Paul Rudd along with Evangeline Lilly, Michael Pena, Walton Goggins, Bobby Cannavale, Laurence Fishburn, Michael Douglas and many more.

 

Debi

Jaya Ahsan is one of the most successful actors of this generation, giving incredible performances in films at home and abroad and winning accolades from the audience and critics alike. This actor-turned-producer is making a film based on the adaptation of the story Debi by Humayun Ahmed. It's a story of eminent psychologist Misir Ali, whose character will be played by Chanchal Chowdhury. Anam Biswas has directed the film and renowned artists including Jaya Ahsan, Animesh Aich, Iresh Zaker and Sabnam Faria will be part of the star-studded cast. With the blend of so many talented artists and story of Humayun Ahmed, this movie has become the talk of the town!
