Munich Honours Banderas
Hollywood royalty, Antonio Banderas will be receiving a CineMerit Award at the 37th Munich International Film Festival. He will be presenting the upcoming Pedro Almodóvar-directed feature, Pain and Glory, for which he snagged the award for Best Actor at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival. Banderas began his career with the esteemed Spanish filmmaker in the 1980s, starring in the film, Labyrinth of Passion. He arrived at the Hollywood scene a decade later, and found huge success in 1998 with The Mask of Zorro. His versatility as an actor has earned him great fame, not only in Hollywood, but all over the globe, rightfully meriting this honour in Munich this year. The 2019 Munich Film Festival will commence on June 26.
