Madhuri’s Take on #MeToo

The #MeToo movement struck India last year, finally exposing the grim reality of Bollywood. Although the movement was short-lived, women in India finally had a platform to speak up. Madhuri Dixit has been extremely vocal about the importance of #MeToo and the fight against sexual harassment. Previously, she was shocked to read names of people she has worked with accused in the #MeToo movement. She said, ‘’It is always shocking when something like that comes out. What you’ve known them and what you’re reading is two different people. It was so shocking.” Recently, she spoke about the importance of education in combating sexual harassment. On the work front, Madhuri was last seen in Karan Johar’s film, Kalank, which was released on April 17, 2019.
