The final season of The Big Bang Theory had already been a sad affair for fans before Jim Parsons decided he was done playing Sheldon Cooper. When asked about this, he said, “It's both as complex and as simple as just feeling innately that it was time. It speaks to a lot of things, none of them bad. There is no negative reason to stop doing Big Bang”. The show could have continued, given its high ratings and huge fan base, but Parsons felt that his character's story had come to an end. He also expressed his sadness about the show’s ending, but is excited to see where his career will go next. The popular television sitcom is set to wrap up after its last season this spring.
