A.R. Rahman to be honoured with Hridaynath Mangeshkar Award

Music maestro A.R. Rahman will be honoured with the Hridaynath Mangeshkar award this year for the melodic masterpieces he has made over the last two decades. The award will be conferred to the maestro in Mumbai, on October 26. The award is named after one of the most celebrated musicians and father of legendary singers Asha Bhosle and Lata Mangeshkar.

A.R. Rahman has previously won various awards in his career including the Academy Award for Slumdog Millionaire and multiple Filmfare Awards. Other renowned names to have received this prestigious award include Lata Mangeshkar, Amitabh Bachchan and Sulochana Tai.
