Sat Jul 21, 2018 12:00 AM Last update on: Sat Jul 21, 2018 12:00 AM

A few months back Bollywood actor Alia Bhatt announced her philanthropic initiative called Mi Wardrobe is Su Wardrobe. The initiative mainly involved many of the actor's belongings from her personal closet put up for sale. The proceeds from this wardrobe sale were then used to light up homes for forty families in Mandya district's Kikkeri Village in Karnataka. Extending their support to Alia's cause was a Liter of Light, an initiative of a Bangalore based NGO called Aroha. Alia released a statement in which she stated, "So many families in India continue to live in darkness and Liter of Light's eco-friendly solar lamps are an innovative and sustainable way to light up homes. The project in Kikkeri will benefit 200 lives and through Mi Wardrobe is Su Wardrobe we plan to work with many such organizations, creating a brighter future for many more."
