The ULAB Social Welfare Club organised a seminar titled “Generation Equality Dialogue”. The seminar was delivered by Farah Kabir, National Director of Actionaid Bangladesh, actor and Director Afzal Hossain, and cartoonist Nasreen Sultana Mitu. The welcome speech and vote of thanks was given by Selima Quader Chowdhury, advisor to the ULAB Social Welfare Club.
The seminar raised awareness of gender-based violence in Bangladesh, and how to eliminate violence against women. A cordial atmosphere prevailed throughout the seminar, and a Q&A session was held with the speakers, university faculty members, students and guests.
An artwork exhibition titled #FemiToon was also inaugurated in ULAB Campus A by Pro-VC Prof. Shamsad Mortuza to observe 16 Days of Activism to End Violence Against Women. Prof. Imran Rahman, special advisor to the ULAB Board of Trustees, the seminar’s distinguished speakers, students and faculty members were present at the inauguration ceremony.
