NSU Athletics Club organises closing ceremony of “Bangabandhu Battle of Skills 2021”
North South University (NSU) organised the closing ceremony of "Bangabandhu Battle of Skills 2021" on October 23, 2021.
The names of the top 5 winners were announced from more than 2000 videos sent by students of different universities and colleges of the country including North South University in this sports competition.
State Minister for Youth and Sports Md. Zahid Ahsan Russell, MP, was present as the chief guest at the closing ceremony. Professor Atiqul Islam, VC, NSU presided over the ceremony. Azim Uddin Ahmed, Chairman, Board of Trustees (BoT), NSU was present as the special guest on the occasion. Among others, Benajir Ahmed and Tanveer Harun, Members, BoT; Prof. Ismail Hossain, Pro-VC; and Prof. ABM Rashedul Hassan, Treasurer was also present.
Md. Zahid Ahsan Russell said, "I thank the authorities of North South University for naming the sports competition after the name of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. I am glad to know that NSU organises big sports competitions like inter-university sports programs where many students from different universities participate which can be an example for other universities."
Azim Uddin Ahmed, Chairman, BoT, NSU said, "The objective of NSU is to achieve advanced knowledge, which is not possible without a safe and comfortable learning environment. NSU authorities are committed to creating discipline among students. To acquire this target, we pay special attention to make the students proficient in their studies as well as equally proficient in all kinds of social activities including sports."
VC Professor Atiqul Islam said, "Programs of NSU are nationally and internationally recogniSed. NSU tops all the rankings. We do research jointly with many reputed organizations. Students come to a university for a good job, NSU graduates are 100 percent employed in a good position in the job market."
He added, "NSU has been ranked in the top 500 in the world in the QS Graduate Employability Rankings 2022. We encourage students to participate in sports as well as social development activities to develop their talents.
Faculty advisor of North South University Athletics Club and Senior Lecturer Mehdi Hasan, general students and club members of NSU Athletics Club were also present at the ceremony.
The prize-giving ceremony ended with a cultural program hosted by the North South University Shangskritik Shangathan (NSUSS).
