Macquarie University, Australia and East Delta University (EDU) hosted a joint seminar on “Ethics and Artificial Intelligence” on July 15, 2019 at the EDU campus in Chattogram.
Sayeed Al Noman, Founder and Vice Chairman, EDU, welcomed Dr. Philomena Leung, Associate Dean, School of Business, Macquarie University. She talked about the many ethical sides of AI in the seminar. She said intelligent machines can be very beneficial but they can also easily lead to destruction if put in the wrong hands. This applies not only to robots produced to replace human soldiers, or autonomous weapons but to AI systems that can cause damage if used maliciously.
Dr. Mohammed Nazim Uddin, Associate Dean of School of Engineering, EDU, and Dr. Mohammad Rokibul Kabir, Associate Dean of School of Business, EDU also gave short talks on technical and business aspects of AI.
