MoU signed between Radiant Pharmaceuticals and IUB

Radiant Pharmaceuticals Ltd. signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) on May 18, 2015 at IUB campus in Bashundhara, Dhaka. This MoU will build a long term relationship between the two institutions to foster research and development and bridge the gap between industry and academia.

On behalf of IUB, Prof. M. Omar Rahman, Vice Chancellor, and on behalf of Radiant Pharmaceuticals Ltd. Mashrur Ahmed, Managing Director, signed the MoU.

Pharma Fest 2015

PHARMA FEST 2015 HELD AT SEU

Department of Pharmacy of Southeast University (SEU) organised a day-long Pharma Fest 2015, on May 23, 2015 at its campus in Tejgaon, Dhaka. SEU Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Anwar Hossain was present at the inaugural ceremony of this festival as chief guest, while Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Humayun Kabir Chowdhury and Marketing Manager of Dynamic Chemicals Ltd. Jerry Lu were present as special guests. Chairman of Department of Pharmacy Prof. Dr. Mamunur Rashid chaired the programme. 

This event was a great networking for pharmaceutical industries, graduating seniors, alumni and the community at large. Apart from SEU, Pharmacy students from University of Asia Pacific, Daffodil International University, Manarat International University, ASA University and Northern University participated at this event. A good number of pharmaceutical companies including Square, Incepta, Beximco Pharma, ACI Ltd, SKF, Aristopharma, Sanofi, Globe Pharmaceutical, Radiant and Hamdard participated at the festival. 


DIU Sr. Assistant Director awarded by BCKT

Md. Anowar Habib Kazal, Senior Assistant Director (Public Relations) of Daffodil International University has been awarded for his contribution to the field of education as PR and communications personnel by Bangladesh Chhatra Kallyan Trust, a voluntary organisation working for students' welfare. Deputy Speaker of the Parliament Advocate M Fazle Rabbi Mian handed over the crest on May 17, 2015 as chief guest at a national seminar at National Press Club in the capital. The function was inaugurated by Professor Emeritus of University of Dhaka Dr. Anisuzzaman. Founder of Bishaw Sahittya Kendra Professor Abdullah Abu Sayeed, Vice Chancellor of DIU Prof. Dr. M. Lutfar Rahman and former Vice Chancellor of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University Professor Dr. Pran Gopal Datta were present as the special guests.   

The function was presided over by Executive Director of Bangladesh Chhatra Kallyan Trust and 8 No. Sector Commander of Liberation War Lt. Col. (Retd.) Abu Osman Chowdhury and moderated by Nure Alam Talukder, CEO of the Trust.   


BRACU inaugurates Chess Club & School Chess programme 

The inauguration programme of BRAC University Chess Club & BRAC School Chess program was held on May 21, 2015 at BRAC University Auditorium. The club aims to utilise chess as a tool to develop students' analytical skills and cognitive abilities. In addition to that, BRAC School Chess Program intends to hunt chess talents from different BRAC schools. Vice Chancellor of BRAC University Prof. Syed Saad Andaleeb attended as the chief guest of the programme and Grandmaster Niaz Murshed, the first grandmaster from South Asia and also the trainer of the club, presented the key-note speech. Mahmud Hasan from BRAC Education Project and Saiful Tariq, Secretary General, Bangladesh Chess Federation attended as special guests. Among others, Dr. Aparna Islam, Director, Office of Co-curricular Activities; Shams Ud Duha, Advisor of the club and Sameer Hossain, President of the club also spoke on the occasion. Apart from inauguration, there was also a rapid chess match between the Vice-Chancellor and Grandmaster Niaz Murshed. 


Seminar on Quality Assurance in Higher Education at WUB

A seminar on "Quality Assurance in Higher Education" was held on May 21, 2015 at the auditorium of the main campus of World University of Bangladesh (WUB). The ceremony was embraced by the Vice Chancellor of the University, Emeritus Professor Dr. Abdul Mannan Choudhury as the chief guest followed by Professor Dr. M Nurul Islam, Pro-Vice Chancellor of WUB, Dr. Musfiq Mannan Choudhury, Secretary, BOT, WUB  as special guests and Professor A K M Ziaul Islam, Controller of Examinations, chaired the session. A keynote paper on quality improvement parameters was presented by Md. Arif  Sattar, Associate Professor of Statistics, WUB.  Faculty members of different departments were present in the seminar.
